    kia coil packs under boost?

i tried a few setups trying to get the car to run right, been having some misfire issues lately, so this is what has been done so far

8g wires and coils with copper plugs ran fine but didn't like how they stuck up and had misfire issues when the wires and coils started to wiggle loose

installed KIA coils and KIA wires with copper plugs runs fine but does not like to go over 4k rpm's and misses under quick acceleration

figured that the copper plugs i was using where not the correct resistance, so i went out and bought iridium evo 8 plugs oem from the dealer, put them in with the KIA coils and wires, lucky to make it down the street, the car was missing all over, put copper ones back in cured, kinda

so after driving back from Orlando yesterday, i started to get that hesitation and misfiring, so i finally put the 8g coils on with the KIA boots, and 8g wires, and the oem evo 8 plugs and i got up to 6k rpm's and have a p0300 code random misfire but it seems like it didn't miss at all

so what I'm finding out that the KIA coils are not good for boost, and was wondering if anyone else is running KIA coils with any problems, I was running KIA coils while I was NA with no problems

KIA and galant wires are not interchangeable, to use KIA wires you have to use KIA coils and for galant wires you have to use galant coils, the connectors are the same

this is what I've run across if anyone else as anything to add please post

Why dont you run EVO coils with the Galant boots and wires?

I'd rather have the knowledge and ability to do it than the money to buy it already done.

Kia head Swaped, if i ran 8g boots the coils and everything sits out like a inch and they wiggle loose, i keep reading that evo8 and galant coils are the same without the boot, you could put the kia or evo 8 boot on the 8g coil but you'd have to buy evo 8 wires, I'm going to ordering some wires here very soon to make sure it all works

Build your own coil on plug setup. Use coils from an RSX type-s or from a New prius/yaris. Your main issue is mounting them. Order a 1/8" thick sheet of aluminum or CF and mount them up. The evo coils will work for a while but once you in the 20psi range on pump, you start to misfire unless u have an amp box or COP

interesting, I'm shooting for around 18 psi, but cant get past 11 psi because my wastegate solenoid does not regulate yet, and I might just go out and buy a MBC, using evo 8 vacuum lines didn't do the trick either,

i have driven it for a few days now and it seems to run fine, my evo 8 oem wires show up tomorrow, and ill post back if they work fine
