has anybody replaced those 4 studs that hold the mount to the transmission with bolts. those things are such a pain in the ass.

ummm I think Jigz removed them? Some people Remove them so that you can slide the tranny mount out when removing the transmission, otherwise the mount hits the frame rails or something.

Anyway I think what you do is take two nuts on top of eachother (ha. ha. ha.) and then unscrew the stud using the bottom nut as the "head" of the stud.

Even if you removed the studs you still can't get the mount out without dropping the trans a few inches.

There's no harm in using bolts instead just make sure they don't bottom out ...

Actually what I was thinking about was removing the mount without removing the transmission, say when you are replacing your motor mounts. If you don't remove the studs, you have to drop the tranny as far as at least the stud length, plus the thickness of the tranny mount, plus some more. It's a pain in the ass. I should have replaced the studs with bolts when I was in there installing poly mounts.

Idk its not worth it to me. I like the suds because i can get things about right then draw it together using the stud. with bolts... you run a serious risk of cross threading or stripping threads.
