I was on my way to the airport when I realized my AC is not working. Press the AC button in and the switch does not light up and there is no cold air. I am taking a long shot here but suspecti it could be related to a 5 spd swap I did last year. Here in Montana we don't have a lot of days that require AC but this year it has already started. I'll be checking fuses when I get back. Other suggestions?

I checked the fuse (10A located in fuse box under the hood) and it is fine. Is there another fuse that controls the AC.
When you press the AC button it does not light up and the AC does not engage. It sure feels like an electroical problem but i don't know where to even begin. Suggestions?

not sure, but did u check ur R134 level? or maybe ur compressor is disconnected?
check to see if the connector is still connected at the compressor
Get a tester and make sure electricity is going to the compressor. If thats not the case perphaps ur ac cluctch went out like mine did
go over the whole car again, something you did during the swap. Maybe unplugged a connector or blown a fuse. If it worked before the swap then it should work after. The swap has nothing to do with the A/C conditioning of the car

Worked on car today; noticed there is a single black wire near the AC that is cut. I have no idea where it is suppose to go or what it does. Later I will upload a photo to photobucket so I can post here in hopes someone can tell me if it has anything to do with the AC unit.

The wire was the problem. there is a single black wire as een in the photo that conects to a pair of wires on the AC. I spliced in a piece of wire and I now have AC although the AC light does not light up on the AC switch.

Always a damn wire. If not a wire then a fuse and if not a fuse its like o shoiiit. Good job finding the problem.
