Depends what mods u use. If you put 93 or 91 oct a few hp.
I use 87 octane in my galant is that bad?
GWAP STACKIN MAKE'S IT HAPPEN
For the 4cly is not. But when you start adding mod like tb, intake, headers. Your taking more air in to the cylinders, the MAF try its best to notice the extra air and adjust the injectors, but you always need fine tuning.
Now when you do base tune for hp gain or to make the most out your mods the timing needs to be adjust, increasing timing means more power but also means probability of knock. The lower the oct the more you knock the more damage you cause the engine. The higher the oct the more timing the fuel could handle. I run 93 oct fuel all they long. Any engine love good gas, it last longer, the gas is cleaner, and is great for boost and tuning.
Hmm...I guess i'll be switching to a higher octane gas with the mods i currently have
