I haven't. I'm not sure of the key's structure under the plastic part, but the transponder chip to neutralize the immobilizer is in there and I'm not sure how modifying the key will affect its operation. But if you got a mind to try it out, I wouldn't mind seeing what you do, but I'd try it on a valet key first.

I dont care enough of what my key looks like to do this.

Its either in my back pocket, or in the ignition

Don’t like having too much on my key chain so if I can combine 2 into 1 I’m doing it… Wish I could have my keys like a Swiss knife lol

I did it not too long ago. My car doesnt have remote door locks so its empty inside. I used an evo fob like this:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/320824801603...84.m1497.l2649

Then I had another key made which replaced the blank key in the fob.

Here's a quick tutorial, but its in VW fob. The internals are the same.

Meh I hate the new flip keys and keys with buttons built in. In fact I hate factory keyless and security.

For me there's nothing like the look of this:

as much as i would like to do this, it wont work due to the way the key portion is backward, if you look and compare it to your key you will see what im saying.
you need a left key blade

Do you know how many we would have to buy then? And how much it would be per 1 set

This is another flip key remote I found
This has lock, unlock, and trunk. Witch is what I need but don't know if the original board will fit or line up in this

    Re: Modified folding key question

Very interested in this but I don't have the trunk button on my remote. Does he just offer the shell with just the lock/unlock buttons?

It's easier finding two button shells than three. Finald8 has the two button and he will post on here or text me when he gets an email back from the company. We want to make sure there is no mods necessary if we get it

Went to a locksmith today to see if it was possible to make the flip key conversion.
I was told because the car key requires a chip to turn on the car it will not be possible to make it.
    I still have hope
Ask your nearest locksmith if it is possible

we can do this and glue it inside the shell
