    Crazy idle

I have a 00gtz and was working fine till today i disconected the battery then a few minutes later a i reconected the battery and now car wont stay on, rpms will drop to 400 then up to around 700 then all the way down to 300 and keeps doong till engine dies, what could have caused this? Should i cleanup throttle body??

HMMMM, that's strange it should have never done that I would would check & clean the throttle body 4 sure. Also check ur fuel filter if that helps as well. I do know that when u disconnect the battery 4 a bit & hook it back up the ecu has 2 learn again frm my understanding. Also try & start it again later on.
    GWAP STACKIN MAKE'S IT HAPPEN

Yes, clean the TB and MAF. The build up they have was compensated by the ECU overtime, but since it was reset it has no memory of compensating for anything so it does this. Clean the TB and MAF while he battery is unplugged and drive it for 10-15 mins, it should clear up.

It's normal. Your ECU is trying to learn how to idle again. You just need to drive around for a while (apprx. 70miles from what I hear). While it's re-learning how to idle, be prepared to use your left leg/foot on the brakes. (if you aren't doing this already). Just in case you're at a stop and you may need brakes on while right foot is gently giving the car more RPM's so you don't stall.

Cleaning the MAF and TB is never a bad idea - but I can't see it idling so bad to the point of dying being attributed to some buildup compensation unless it's pretty caked (you never know though). Check the vac lines around that area (around the battery or wherever you may have been working) - like on your TB to make sure you didn't damage one. Happened to me once after changing the plugs (also V6) - same symptoms. Repaired the leak but it was still idling a little erratically, so I drove it for a while to no avail. Had it back in the garage and revved it around 5k a few times and has been fine for two years since. Weird

Check the Basic Idle Speed Screw or BISS it is a Nylon screw typically red on the top of the throttle body. It controls the Idle RPM and if it is set too high it will rev and rev trying to set itself but it wont. On my 4 banger its all the way in.

please don't do this, just leave the screw alone

You can't go wrong adjusting the BISS really, you can always set it back.

    Crazy idle

CRA manual says this should not have to be used cause the iac controls idle. That being said its good as a temporary fix. A very temporary fix. Cause as temps get colder u need to adjust the screw open more for cold start then once car is warm u will idle high. Take your time and look at the wires to your iac pigtail and make sure they have not cracked, mine did and it took me a year to find that 2 wires broke from heat and stress fatigue. So I got no CEL cause technically it was still getting power. Start with vacuum leak check and iac. The screw is a temp fix. Cause car can still stall on hard turns and when ac is on the car will die if just using the screw. I say this from personal experience.

    Re: Crazy idle

If your having to turn that screw you have bigger problems, sure you can adjust it but after you fixed the main problem, your better off not touching it

The first post says it happened after disconnecting the battery, the car is relearning, mine did the same thing after my 5 speed swap and i had the car disconnected for a while

Actually you can go wrong adjusting the idle speed screw. Overtime the ECU adjusts the idle on its own to its programmed RPM range and it takes temp changes, build up and morons who mess with it manually into consideration.
