    Greg's Legnum VR-4

Figured I should post something about my car. I picked it up from auction in Japan, got it for a steal of a deal.

Auction shots. All I had to go on, and the auction sheet from my exporter

Shipping lot pictures. Bone stock other then the weird stainless steel mesh air intake.

Rest to come in the next post.

Got sidetracked to updating this, so here is more.

Sitting on the ferry on the drive home from Vancouver after pickup, like a late Christmas present

BC Inspection decal, and certification from the port of Kawasaki that my car is radiation free

A mere 134,000km. Just breaking her in.

'The goods'. Came with a dirty gross and weird stainless steel mesh cold air intake. Replaced with a nice K&N clean one.

Browsing Ebay, and I found a brochure from the manufacturer.

    Random clean shots

Found some 17s for a great deal on Craigslist

So I figured I might as well pick up some tires to go with them. Falken ZE912s

Fit perfectly. Someone just needs to buy me some coilovers now

LED reverse lights because why not?

Had it detailed before my wife and I took a 12 day roadtrip of the US

It did not come home looking that nice...But we did our part killing bugs with it.

Finally, picked up some new LED headlights

All in, car price at auction, shipping, taxes, duty, misc fees, inspection, etc...I was looking at about $4000 drive away. Can't beat that.

Unfortunately for the US, they have a 25 year restriction for importing, whereas Canada only has a 15 year.

Pulled the centre console out to play with some new ideas for a stereo...

Haha, I was planning on it. I took my old crappy JDM stereo out.

Pulled all the bits of it off I didn't need

What I'm keeping that I will use to mount the tablet in a case to. I just have to trim the black bit back to be in line with the silver sides, and it'll fit nicely.

Test fitting it back in. Should work nicely.

My plan is to put a single DIN deck in the empty spot below, that used to hold pens, and run the rear AUX to the tablet, then find the right tasker so the tablet is on when there is power, and off when no power going to it. I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to power it to yet, but probably my cigarette lighter. I'll research what others have done on that front more soon.

What I'd do is wire in a hidden cigarette lighter socket and put it inside the console and plug the tablet's car charger up to that. It would require a separate fused power wire and ground wire, and possible a relay with the remote trigger from the single DIN unit you plan to install as the relay's trigger. That's one way, I'm sure there are other ways.

Yeah, I'm not sure yet. I'm gonna stop by a car audio place in the next little bit and see what they say, or if they can help me to make sure it's done right.

Had a random misfire lately, this should take care of it...
