hi TGC,
is it easy/safe to DIY-replace a faulty reverse/backup light switch? its always ON and (i think) it's somehow consuming my battery even the car is off..
i temporarily removed its fuse to shut it off, it's just hard when backing up at night..

Does your car have a manual transmission?
If yes its on top of the trans, and its very easy to replace.

Is the switch in the same location for an automatic transmission? I'm trying to locate where the wire is ran from so I can wire in a wireless transmitter for a backup camera
On the autos it's different. Its on the main harnesses. Rather than messing with that, get it from the tail light in the trunk and route it in through the panels, not as hard as it seems.
Well I'm trying to not have to run a wire from the trunk to the front, it defeats the purpose of the backup camera wireless transmitter/receiver, I want to find out where it is ran from the reverse switch
Not really since its the power you are running and not the video. Not only that tapping into the light is way easier than running the video wire from the trunk lid.
