    3g eclipse hatch door SHOCKS on an 8g galant HOOD

    do you think if i was to take the shocks off of a 3g eclipse hatch door, would it hold my galant hood up?

    They would probably be too stiff. The hatch is heavier by far. I'd suggest trying just one first or looking for other struts. If you unbolt your hood and weigh it then do some measurements the math to calculate how much force you need isn't too hard. http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sh.../stabilus.html

    you could just buy the redline kit as well, i seen a kit on email also that bolts on comes from China i think.

    Just go to the yard find a car that has them take notes use that setup

    ^^This. I like keeping it all in the family (when it comes to cars), the 1997-2004 (2G) Diamante setup would probably work well:
