P0500 Code Need help

I just bought an 01 GTZ. It has the cel on and is giving the code p0500 Speed Sensor "A". Speedo is not working however everything else on the cluster does. The plug to the sensor was broken so I replaced it, since I was there I went ahead and replaced the sensor. It's the sensor closest to the firewall not the one on top next to the Shift Selector Cable (which has also been replaced). I still have a cel and no speedo. Any ideas what else it could be?
