If the car cranksbut doesn't start up you could have a blown head gasket.
I was driving on the highway when my car started smoking. I pulled over and saw a rad hose blown right off the back side of the thermostat housing (the inlet side before entering thermo housing).
I had the car towed home. I noticed the thermostat was closed. I felt the hose and it was cold. I figured I'd let the car cool and change the thermostat. I waited a few hours, changed it and the car wont turn.
I turn the key and it sounds like it wants to turn but doesnt.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Yes it does crank and no start. I checked the oil and it is clean. I havent seen any smoke out of the exhaust or signs of mixing coolant and oil.
This blows.
Im havin a similar issue. Cold start was lengthy. Rough idle It over heat when i stopp it cut off n wouldnt start.
