Updated.
@ADMIN is it possible to use spoliers on these forums? i want to keep all my old data from build thread but have it hidden to not waste space on my screen
Hello TheGalantCenter Members i hope its ok to start a build thread so early in my TGC life and so early on in my build but i really want to keep track of all my progress.
I will start by describing what i have started with.
This is how i brought my baby a little bit on the un tidy side but extremely cheap. $1200NZD
Her heart is a 2.0ltr SOHC 4g63 with a 5 speed manual transmission and she runs on her front feet.
She is a 1997 model so has the electric windows and mirrros and a few other extras.
Unfortunatly shes been driven alot just hit 360000KM today (223693.629miles)
So far i havent done much only added the nice new shoes and tinted the windows, first attempt at tinting so its a bit rough hopefully redoing in the up coming weekend.
This is how she currently is
Now for the really bad part just over a month ago i decided to pick a fight with a concrete street light and came off second best. most of the repairs have been done but this is what was the result

I like those wheels on the 7g. Did you drop it at all?
And that sucks about the streetlight, I have a 94 with spare tail-lights, trunk lid and the fat assed usdm bumper cover if you havent replaced yours already.

No it hasn't been lowered by me and when inspected doesn't seem like a previous owner has. Although it sits about 2inchs lower then my mothers 7g so maybe it has just really well hidden to pass inspections.
The parts I have already replaced found a exact car at the wreckers was even white. Already repainted quarter panel too after I panel beater it. I've got some more pics of the damage. It's worse on the inside.
Also I am halfway accross the world so I doubt sending parts would be a viable option but thanks.
Sometime in te future when I am a bit more financial I will prob have to import a body kit or jdm body mods as gallants aren't huge over here. Evos are so a nice 4g63t won't be hard to get.
Is it possible to do a engine swap and keep car fwd??
What are the specs on your wheels-tires if you dont mind?
Good deal and yeah i figured just thought i would offer lol
There is almost 0 support for 7g's over here luckily we can use almost every part of a 2g eclipse though aside from body parts of course.
Yeah its very possible, as long its the evo 1-3 4g63t or the eclipse 4g63t. Otherwise you'll have a lot of fabrication ahead of you.
Several people on here have swapped a 4g63t into their 7g's and kept it fwd and others have gone awd with the drivetrain and rear of a 2g gsx.

Sorry I couldn't be more help. I think they really suit the car. Just a little different from what you normally see on gallants but not too much. They cost me $300nzd including 2 new tyres and half tread tyres so a really good price
Thats a good deal for new wheels and tires.
Im still rocking the factory wheels, i hope to get some new ones in the near future though.

Well tonight's mission accomplished just installed a alarm system with 2 immobilisers and remote central locking. What a mission. All done works great and only took 2 hours
Well she died.
Clutch failed. Now I need to decide is it worth keeping her or not. Also iac valve failed today and a flat tyre.
What else is going to fail.
Nooo not another dead 7G :C
When my clutch went out I got her fixed up with a whole new clutch system and it is real nice, I would fix her but thats just me.
Well if you decide to let her go, let me know if you want to part it out I would GLADLY buy several things from it.

She lives once again decided a new clutch was a lot cheaper then a new car. She drives like new again.
I still need a IAC valve but shit they expensive over here and no wreakers will sell them.
So if anyone has a spare iac valve for a sohc 4g63 lying around please let me know. I don't really want to pay the $250nzd they are trying to charge me
Glad you got her up and about again.
Is it the same as the IAC's from a dohc 4g63?

According to mko no they are not the same. But he has shown me how to override it which was basically done already by my mechanic
Yeah I was just wondering if it was the same as my sohc 4g64 that I could have sent ya nothing wrong with it but didn't know if they were the same. Anyway thats good as long as it works well!! :D
