Awesome, I would sand that rust off the hats on the coilovers and put a few coats of paint on before installing them.
So I am finally back in the game! After a few years of being without a Galant I have returned! I have a ton of things that i want to do to this one. Although i wish i still had my Dolphin and rear VR4 bumpers. But oh well, time to start fresh.
And here is the suspension thats going to replace the trashed one thats in the car now...
Currently on my 3rd 8G... Not giving up this time!

Welcome back to the fold bro! Looks like that pearl blue/silver color. Already doing better than me in the suspension category.

Its actually tan/gold color. It was dusk and that flash was on. Not sure why pics came out like that. Lol

So, just curious, but from the pic does anyone know anything about that suspension?

How about the springs? Think they are stock?

I never got to do the suspension on my last Galant, so I don't know anything about them.

Please dont run thar suspension setup, looks very unstable and dangerous.
I dont know if you're looking to lower the car but the most cost effective thing to do for now is use the KYB struts on the stock springs. Then bury those sleeve overs 6ft under ground.

So your saying that I should use the kyb but not the springs or sleeves? Are these not coilovers? I'm little/lot confused on what I got here.

I wouldn't use that suspension setup, but I would just never advocate cheaping out on suspension at all. I've learned my lesson from cheap off-brand coilovers and just lowering springs on OEM/OEM-replacement dampers.
Well, the car has blown struts and shocks now. So this will at least take care of my inspection. Are the kyb not any good either?

After being abused by those cheap coils, I would be surprised if those struts are not blown.

Not what I wanted to hear. Anyway of checking without mounting to the car?

A quick way of check is remove the sleeves and springs and push the rod down, the release it and it should come out at a similar pace then how it went in.
Blown shocks will allow the rod to go in rifht away without back pressure and then it will virtually not want to come back out since there is no pressure in the shock.
