    5 Speed Paddle Shift Swap

Anybody ever looked into an electronic paddle shift install on a V6 Galant. Yes, I am lazy and do not want to do a manual 5 speed shifter.

Do you mean you want to swap in a entire transmission with paddle shifters or just the paddle shifters?

I would do the entire transmission if there were no ECU issues (Knee slapper). I have to pull to rebuild anyway. Looking at all options.

there is no "paddle shifter" option in any year 99-03 mitsu from my experience. you could possibly swap the "tiptronic" out of an auto eclipse and just make your own paddles instead of the up and down on the shifter.

^^^ What he said, if you use the eclipse's "tiptronic" transmission then maybe you can use the paddle shifters off an Evo X MR and wire them to the floor shifter like this: http://www.evolutionm.net/forums/evo...ion-7-gta.html

I'm pretty sure the wires would be a different color though, so that you'll have to figure out

Thanks. Great instructions on the site. I wish I could see the pictures. Looks link the links for the picts are no longer active or have moved. I'll research this a little more. I appreciate the input. Now if I could post pictures to this site that would stick for more than a day it would be perfect.

This may be the best lower cost option. Thanks for the info. As soon as I chase down this P0400 CEL I will tackle this project. I have looked at all the EGR components and can't find the fault. 2 trips to the dealer and one new Manifold Pressure Differential Sensor and the light is back on. Last trip they indicated they left a vacuum line off the EGR and that is why the code came back on. 20 miles after the second visit to remove moisture from the EGR and reattach the line, the light is on again. Now I don't feel so stupid not being able to find the problem.

I actually did some more research for shits and giggles and for a gearset they're almost $10k haha.

Have you checked your egr solenoid? It's the little thing behind your intake manifold that has 2 vacuum lines and a 2 pin connector that goes to it. I've run across a few that got too hot and melted and threw a light. Can't remember if it was a p0400 though

That's big money and I am on a pinto budget. I did check the solenoid. It was good and the dealer confirmed it was ok. They replaced the MDP sensor but it threw the code again. They said the problem is there is a mesh ball check valve that is missing in the EGR pipe. The tube that is marked in yellow. I found no reference to any such thing in the manual. The part is in and will be installed tomorrow. You have t buy the EGR spaghetti tubes as a complete assembly to fix the problem. $80 fix. We'll see. I'll status tomorrow afternoon. Thanks for the help.
