cleaning solder pads on ecu
what is the best way to clean the solder pads under the compacators on the ecu board
-
Um.
1 - why would you want to?
2 - what's exactly are you cleaning? The flux? De-soldering? Did it get dropped in mud?
3 - did you dismantle you ECU?
Just need more info to help you out...

one comp was leaking and the solder pad under that comp wont take the solder and needs to be cleaned

Best thing to do there - use a 15w soldering iron to first de-solder the connection. Use a solder-wick (best) or solder-sucker (ok) if you have either. Clean with de-natured alcohol and cotton swab or q-tip - nothing more abrasive. When you re-solder, again stay with a 15w iron and solder as quick as as possible or else you run the chance of lifting the pad from the board. Best to use 50/50 solder though 90/10 would work if that's all you have... Hope this helps.
