    LIGHTS!

    last night it rained...
i was at a party and left around 2
wen started my car and turned on my lights my fog lights weren't working and my left head light had gone out
i have no idea what could have caused this... or if the two things are related
could it be the rain? i don't know what else it could be but if anyone has any ideas i really need help

pop the hood and check out the wiring, make sure everything is plugged in and none of the wires are damaged. make sure the housings aren't damaged.

check the fuse box. make sure the fuses for those circuits are ok.

check the bulbs, make sure the bulbs are still good

the the sockets tehmselves, make sure they are getting good connections with the bulb and that they are getting power.

aite as far as i can tell the wiring is fine
the headlight problem was simply bulbs
but the fog lights still aren't working
its not the fuses, and i dont think its the bulbs cuz it wouldnt make sense for both to go out at the same time rite?
i don't kno wut else it could be...

check the sockets for the fogs. see if they are getting power or not. if they are, then its the bulbs. if they are not, then your bulbs are fine. check your wires and work from there all the way up to your fuse box.

how do i check the sockets for power?
i've checked every other thing and it has to be the sockets, or maybe the wiring, but i doubt it
is there a way to check power output?

first you need a tester. a multimeter would work too. inside the socket will be some metal prongs that touch up against the bulb to provide its power. turn on the headlights from the switch inside. then take the multimeter and touch the black probe from the multimeter with the ground prong and the red probe from the red prong and you should get a reading of 12v. if you have a tester, do the same thing but a light or a beep will show up if there is power.

aite so now im pretty sure that the problem is a fuse or something
the light in my gague cluster went out as well and im pretty sure its a fuse to my parking lights

the reason my fog lights werent workin was because they were hooked up to my parking lights
the problem is, i cant find the fuse or relay for the parking lights
does anyone know wut im talkin about and can help me out?

(and i jus wana thank pinoy for being the only one to respond)

i checked both but i cant figure out which one has a fuse, or if both have a fuse for the parking lights
wuts weird is wen i turn the light switch from off to the parking lights, i hear a clicking sound coming from the fuse box under the hood
im pretty sure its one of the fuses there but i dont kno which one

not to sure but i think the fuse to the parking lights are inside the car on the floor board.. also the headlights u are using if they are hyper white or any such bulds as thoes u may want to get an upgraded wiring harness for them.. that is what i had to do.. I kept melting the factory harnesses.
