A drain and fill is just that, you drain fluid through the drain plug, re-plug it, then fill it back up. A Flush is done with a machine which physically pushes out any debris or gunk with force. This can cause damage to old seals and such which is why its not recommended on vehicles over 100K. Which Ive heard on more than one occassion from Mitsu mechanics and other mechanics. I mean why play "Russian Roulette"?

Mine has gone 152000km, that would be about 94400 miles.

I see, "Russian Roulette" is tempting considering they get the debris and gunk out, I'd be willing to take a spin, if it fails then I guess we got ourselves the best excuse for 5speed.

However I will take the info into consideration, weigh my options, and see what comes out on top.

Transmission shop I went to for my last car said he believes in dropping tha pan and changing the filter for the transmission, which is what I plan getting done to the g sometime soon. If I recall I just recently hit 132k. If incorrect I'll edit this post later cause I'm too lazy to run outside and check the odometer lol. But my car is 02 ls v6. Bought the G back on the 12th midway of a 131K. Since then I've had plugs & wires, valve cover gaskets, belts, and oil changed.

Believe in that too, mine has a spin on outside, no need to drop pan.

1645xx, can't remember the last two. Got it at 31K in 2004, been running ever since, no downtime more than a couple days, hell the original timing belt got changed at 122K, no problems.
