Tranny oil changec schedule

Guys,

What schedule/intervals do you follow when changing you transmission oil? Thanks.

Gear oil "never" needs to be changed...unless it gets water in it or you grind the gears really, really hard.

ATF on the other hand,

You can follow the factory recommended service schedule (usually ~50,000 miles) or you can save some money and just do it when it actually needs it. Judge by the color of the fluid. As long as it's more red than brown/black it's good to go.

Since Mitsu ATF is like $6 a quart and you need between 9-13 quarts to do a change... Plus the $20 filter kit. Adds up quick.
