i just pulled apart, literally, one of the headlamps i'm using. i'm planning on making something similar to the cibies, and i said "similar"

http://www.cibie.com/img/CIBIE_HID/GALANT/GALANT_02.jpghttp://www.cibie.com/img/CIBIE_HID/GALANT/GALANT_01.jpg

i want to put on each lamp, a fog lows and highs. for the turn signal, i'm gonna use something similar to what kitted supras have....if you don't know, it has the turn signal inside the front vents.

anyways, i've ran into my first problem.........i don't know what to use for the lamps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i know ASTIG used piaas but i was wondering if i could use the Hella uptilux fogs as my lows and then some standard highs? all you smart people out there let me know

well since u are going through the trouble you might as well use REAL projectors just like ASTIG (who used HELLA 90mm projectors, btw, not PIAA's). here they are:

DO NOT use foglights for headlights, they have completely different beam patterns.

lol, REAL. well, i've been thinking to make the headlamps look good even if they're not functional. kinda like putting em on for shows and stuff. but i dunno, i hope they come ok so i can have em on anytime. the electrical part is gonna take me a while cus i'm gonna have to make a special harness so i could just plug it in into the stock harness.
i had an extra set so if i screw up its just 150 bucks i'm throwing away

Hey Z, about the harness thing. The place that sells those projectors, also sells the harness for them. What about just tapping the lines on the old harness, so you'd have two harnesses on the same wires..the one for the projectors, and one for the regular headlights. Might make ya life a just a lil easier. Just a thought.

i hear what you're saying but i'm trying to stay away from tapping/modding the stock harnesses

well since you are going from H4 hi/low to dual beam (ala JDM) the wiring will b very similar. there is no easy way to get around tapping the wires unless you modify an after market harness (kinda like what i did in my conversion). here' where i got mine although mine was custom made and bypasses the stock wiring now except for using the OE as turn n leads. so what im saying is you would install the new harness but it would plug directly to the battery and use the OE leads to trigger the relays... when u switch back to stock you would just unplug the harness, although it would stay in the engine bay, then plug the OE lights back into the OE harness. here is where i got my harness:

http://suvlights.tripod.com/suvlightscom/h...ire-harness.htm ('http://suvlights.tripod.com/suvlightscom/html/wire-harness.htm')

again the H4 to H7/H1 conversion harness (JDM) was custom done and the item is not listed, but at least you should b able to get some info from that page.
