Acting weird........

today when i was going to taco bell with five of my friends (we were all inside my car) my car shut off on me while i was driving!!!! the weirdest part is all the lights in the insturment cluster turned on(check engine light,SRS,brakes,etc.) well i pushed my car to the side of the road and checked under the hood everything seemed ok then i started her up again and she started up fine but when i was driving she was shaking like crazy. i droped my friends off and as soon as i did she was accelarating fast as hell but it was still shakeing...anyone have this problem before or can help me out https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif

Your alternator may be on its way out, or maybe the alternator belt is about to break and got jammed or something. You should find out what the cause is before driving it again.

A while back when I first got my 7g, I was driving home from Miami (about a 2 hour drive) and I had an oil leak. I put a sealant in and it worked fine for like a week, but on my way back I guess it started leaking again and half way home my engine blew up and all of the lights on my instrument cluster lit up and i was covered in a cloud of smoke. today, it happened to me when i got off the highway and was putting on the brakes, my car just quit on me. good thing, there was a Mobil station so i parked my self there, you wonder how i did it? i started the car w/ my foot on the accelerator, so i revved it to 1500 rpm, stepped on the brakes, shifted to D and drove until i was on Mobil and just let go of the pedal, and it died again. i knew it was the alternator, but i had to go home, so i did the same thing for about few miles like 3-4. now it's in the garage and i don't know how or if it will start again, hopefully so i could take it to a shop, but what do you suggest guys? should i buy the altenator from PepBoys and let them change my alternator, or some car shop, or go to a Mitsu dealer? how much is an alternator for a 95 galant nowadays? around $200? help!

DO NOT....<span style='font-size:25pt;line-height:100%'>EVER</span>.....GO TO A DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE. you will get overcharged, they will have your car for 10 times as long as anyone else would need it for, and i'll say it again, you will get overcharged like a mother.

damn, okay, we got the point, sorry for mention it. but anyway, do you think it's a bad altenator as well for my car? battery's good since i just replaced about a year ago, and i don't leave my rear defroster on since i know it'll eat out my battery? btw, would a 97 Galant altenator fit to my 95 galant?
