Strut tower bar on 7g- Question! (Look again plz, added pic)

Howday!

I received a strut tower bar for christmas for my 7g Galant...I put it on and was upset to see that the hood wouldn't close with the bar in place. I un-installed it and it now sits in my garage without a purpose. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem with their strut bars, and if there is anything to do about it? Does anyone have a pic of one installed, so I can make sure I put it on right? It is not a brand name...I think i was bought off eBay (which might explain why it doesn't fit...Grrrr) Well thanks for your time, suspension experts https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif Lemme know if you have any opinions....

My first question would have to be... what year/model car is the strut bar intended to fit? I know it's Ebay, but is it for an Eclipse or a Galant?

Mine is a ractive for the 2G Eclipse, and it hit the hood after I installed it (would still shut though). Then a member on here pointed out to me that I need to mount the strut bar so that it is back towards the firewall and not over the manifold. That solved the problem for me...
Can you give and example of what style STB it is please?

mine's an APC bar made for the 2G eclipses, and i had to mount it backwards so the hood would close. like 2True, it hits the hood, but the hood can close, it just barely touches the hood.

Man I haven't been here in so long...

Okay well I took a picture of the strut bar in question, here it is. When I installed it a few months ago- hood would not close. Can someone please let me know if this will fit at all, and if so, how do I put it on so that it will fit properly? The seller sold it as fitting a 7g Galant. THanks so much you guys!

Mine fits fine and I think it's the same one you have. I got mine off of ebay.

Just try mounting it differently. It is adjustable, so you can move the bar upside down if needed. I had to turn mine upside down and it goes right over the fuel rail...

Same here...

Just try turning it the other way, unbolt the mounts and switch sides.

i have the same one as brandon and you meowhead, try mounting it the way brandon has in his pic, thats the same way i put mine in.
