Hey guys, just checking out Speedoptions.com when I see that STR is going to be making custom manifolds, they already make them for the B16 and the B18, but I see they are going to make them for the Eclipse. If they make them for the 4G63, would they fit the 4G64? Also what benifit would this give some one as far as power?

Heres the link: http://www.speedoptions.com/articles/3039/...6a085431661c19d ('http://www.speedoptions.com/articles/3039/?SpeedOptions=4e694de415ebab7086a085431661c19d')

U can use it also the venom manifold is already available.......or u can do is port the '64 and match it to the head and tb

Are you saying that the Venom manifold and all other 63 manifolds will bolt to the 64? Or that Venom actually makes one for the 64? This is the first I have ever heard of this... I had mine P&P'd because I figured that that was the only manifold I could use on my 64.... ah.. it was free!

Please elabirate on this one a bit for me D9W.

Or Craig, if your out there, some tech advise por favor Senor.

But why spend 500 for the venom when u can get a whole 2g engine for 800???

Other manifolds fit. All 4g63 NA and turbo manifolds bolt right on. Even the intake manifolds work. Go with a 1g intake manifold and a 2g exhaust.

How much bigger is the 1g intake manifold than the stock 64?

Is all we have to do is just put on the new intake manifold or do we have to rewire anything, get new ecu, doesn't the fuel rail and injectors conect to the manifold?

Well if it is a direct bolt on then, ya, it would just... bolt on.
BEAST brings up a good point, a manifold with a higher flow rate would be beneficial only if you have larger injectors too right?
But then again, my ECU re-mapped my air/fuel ratio after the P&P.. or so I am told. Perhaps an s-afc would work better.
So would the upgrade to say an EFI manifold from a 1g actually gain anything without other upgrades to compliment?

Those VENOM and Edelbrock manifolds claim 15-25HP increase as a direct replacement.... . . and they're shiny https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

Have you ever actually seen one of the aftermarket performance intake manifolds in person? I have, and I think they're hideous. They're square, and HUGE. I'm just gonna have my local redneck racer machine shop port out mine, and see what happens. I'm expecting some pretty decent gains.

If you're going turbo and you put the TB and intake manfold on then just use a 2g ECU and it'll be fine. You'll need the stock 450cc injectors with the resistor pack. You can use your fuel rail and fuel pump (although you might want to re-wire the fuel pump to give it constant power).

If staying NA, keep your ECU, put the 4g64 TB on the 1g manifold, then use an AFC with 450cc injectors and resistor pack and re-wire the fuel pump. Make sure you're getting lots of air to compensate for bigger injectors. Maybe some nitrous would be appropriate now since you have more fuel for it to burn.

What is the difference in size of the TB of the Galant and 2g Eclipse?

Does the 2g ECU plug right in? How would it effect performance?
