Does it make a difference on a car without engine mods?

Everyone will tell you something different...

Unless you're running with serious mods, I don't believe you have to use anything other than what the manual says.

I personally use 89.

I probably would use higher octane gas but gas is way too expensive in NY, so I go with regular cause its the cheapest =D

i use high octane, you get better mileage and you can feel the performance gain.

I use high octane, but just because it's not really a huge saving to go cheap. Last time I filled it I used premium and I calculated that if I had used regular, I'd have saved only $2.60 or so. Whoop-de-do.

If you have no engine mods anything higher than 87 is just wasting money

nope.

i've proven it on my car and 3 other cars myself. premium burns slower, therefore you get more mileage out of a tank of gas. i got about 40 more miles out of a tank of gas on my G, and average about 45-50 more miles on the other cars. you can also feel premium's power gain. when i switched from low octane to premium, i felt an instant difference in acceleration and all around pick up. along with the other cars i tested out.
