I want to change my dome light in my 8g Galant. Do any body know where I can get some hyper white or blue bulbs for the dome light

Thanks
Chris

the one in the center is a T-6 bulb, the 2 front map light don't come in blue color...so what I did, I took some blue wedge bulb, straighten the leads and soldered some wire to the actual contact.

here's a pic

if the pic doesn't show go here

I can't seem to get the pix to work.

they're the same pic, one the URL is bound to work...

I changed my domelight bulbs to hyperwhite bulbs. They don't have any our size so I bought some and soldered them to the dome.

Mine looks just like that too. solder them in and wahla. HINT: scratch the metal pointy ends of the dome light so the solder will stick a little better on the ends. That was probably the hardest part of the mod.

Uhh, no, NOT CLEAR covers... but you can use those light bulb condoms (like a blue one), cut the ends and slip over the original bulbs OR buy new standard dome lights (the one's that everyone else uses) with the pointy ends (these do come in hyper-white or colored) that are NOTHING like the stock ones (with wires on the ends), and solder them in yourself as suggested in the previous posts.

naw man, what i meant was the clear buttons, you know the part that you push to make the light turn on. i know about the sleeves that go on the bulbs themselves, but the outside part is what im talking about. thanks for the help.

Oh. But they shouldn't be yellow stock. Mine are clear from the dealer and changing the bulbs inside obviously changed the color of the lenses (button as you call it b/c it's what you press on to turn them on). You can get them replaced from the dealer but you might just have to replace the whole dome/courtesy light unit. I'd definitely try replacing the bulbs to whiter ones to see if it changes the color of lighting first. I know first hand that the original bulbs are pretty yellow in hue.

I used nozzel lights. I just took them apart and used the led inside the noozel casing. Then i cut the wires and striped each end to expose the wire and twisted one end to the positive and the other to the negitive. It works great and you can get many colors.

YEP, them there sunsuhbitcheez ar yella! its just a little yellow, you know, so that the light wont blind you. anyway, i remember the light looked perfectly blue with out the cover on it, and then when i put the cover back on it looked green. so it was definatly the damn yella cover. so probably going to the dealer would be my best bet. so thanks for the input from all.
