Make sure the spring is not resting on the strut mount. The rubber piece should be between the strut mount and the spring.

What "rubber piece" are you referring to Seth? I don't ever remember seeing any rubber piece when i put them on.

There should be a rubber ring shaped piece that goes on top, right under the top mount... eek.

Nope...never had one..even when I put my coils on in '02.

So this rubber piece should match the shape of the strut mount?

Yes, it kinda slides into the strut mount. I know you can get the hardware from Mitsu, but you could probably try your local auto shop for em.
