Make sure you remember how everything goes back together and make sure the springs are in line with the struts....

VERY easy... Just make sure you put aside a lot of time and make sure you have a friend or two around. The spring compressor is essentially free from Autozone. You pay them to rent it but you get your money back when you return it ($40-$50)

How about a camber kit? Same deal?

If you have patience and can remove and re-install bolts, the camber kit should be no problem either. Hardest thing really would be if you have rusted bolts that are hard to get out - breaker bar or impact wrench is always good to have.

You'd need a shop to install the camber kit so they can adjust it correctly since the use special equipment to tell how much adjustment you need.

Get yourself 2 1/2"(or even 3/8") breaker bars and a few 14mm and 17mm sockets and your set

You do NOT need the compressor things.

I did my Progress install today, using the same method I have in the past without using spring compressors. Here's how to do it...

1. Place the front of the car up on jack stands
2. Take off your rims/tires
3. Unbolt the 1/2" brake line bolts
4. Unbolt the 1/2" sway bar end link
5. Place floorjack under a arm and jack up just until the car starts raising off the jackstand, then lower a bit
6. Unbolt the two 15/16" strut bolts and remove (breaker bar is helpful)
8. Unbolt the 3/4" strut nut from on top of the strut housing in the engine bay
9. Lower the floorjack slowly
10. Remove srtrut/spring from wheelwell

Installation is the reverse of removal
This is really easy this way

You do NOT need to remove the three nuts holding the upper strut mount on

Any questions, feel free to email me at [email protected]

Still easier and safer to do with a compressor IMHO

Thanx peano, instructions right in the box w. it too? Or just your knowledge?

PB Blaster from autozone works better. Just spray on and let it sit overnight, the night before you do it. Bolts and nuts should slide right off in the morning.

no, no instructions, just the springs (and stickers https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). i was scared before doing my first suspension related job on my car, but once you get the wheels off and really look around inside, you'll be amazed at how simple suspension really is. just unscrew all the bolts that hold the strut/spring combo in the car, take off the spring with a spring compressor, and reverse that. just make sure you remember how the strut/spring assembly went together. when you take it apart, lay the parts down in order so you can just pick them up backwards for a perfect installation. i cannot stress how easy suspension is on our cars, just takes a long time.
