and you have to stomp it to make it go down? Think I just need some oil?
It only does it after the car has sat for a while like overnight...

Yea, my Galant used to do that all the time, esp when it was cold out.

I tried to do a search but it came back with a bunch of irrelevant stuff...
I just oiled the mechanism behind the pedal and it seems to have helped.
