Battary light and break light are both on??

what the hell??? when i start my car after i have to jump it off the battary light and the break light are both on, but when i hit second gear they both go off. i dont have a system in the car or nothing like that what what is it??

could be just a fuse about to go out, cuz I have the break light problem too. But Obviously it is not engaged. Go through and change some fuses, thats what I am gonna do...fuses are cheap

yeah both lights come on everytime i start the car and my lights are dim, but when i go down the road and hit 2nd gear they both go off :?: i must have a bad ass short somewhere because if i leave the car partked or over 5 hours the battary is dead and i have to get jumped off (wish i had a five speed https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif ) i guess i will take it to a shop and get it checked out

My brake light stays on most of the time! Sometimes though, when the car warms up, it goes away! I dont think that has anything to do with the alternator! Not the "brake" light

your alternator is goin..... i had the same problem... go get it tested.... the voltage regulator was busted on mine and anything above idle the alternator would spike to 20 volts.... lol.... remember people we have 12 volt systems.... at 14-16 shit starts to melt.... i was lucky my ECU didnt fry....

I know its not the alternator because mine is pretty new! It is only about a year or so old

well i got the alternator checked and its good turns out it was the battary :?
