17x8 rims

hey i have 17x7 rims right now and they fit perfect with my 225/45/17 tires, Before when i was buying new rims which i will be doing again soon people said the 17X8s will stick out and look retarded. I saw someone on this forum with 17x8s and they didnt say they stuck out retarded. IF i get 17x8s what offset should i get and what size tires can i put on them? thanks.

i didn't know you could fit 225s on a 7" wide wheels, i always thought the widest you could fit is 215. looking at my wheels, 215 is what i have on now, and i really don't think anything wider could go on there.

yea i have 225s on my 17x7s they look good and seem to be fine i got them from tires.com and they mounted and balanced them there. i have falken azenis tires.
