Ok quick question. I never thought I would see my I4 ever hit a number like this in rev.

 I thought the Galant has a rev limiter that will shift itself automaticaly even though you are down shifting.

do you mean if you are manually shifting, and your in first, if you hit the rev limiter, it'll automatically shift into second? nah, it won't do that. would be nice, lol, but it doesn't. was that reading while driving in first?

Nope when I was in second and then shifting into third. I was leaving and Sac. and I had to gun it or hit this stupid truck. The engine didn't even sound like it was pushing. Every now and again when I am driving I would just check my AFC to see what I hit and I had seen that number and I was like...

I thought redline was 6250? 6288 isnt that high.

Red line starts for a I4 at 5,500 the V6 is 6,000. That number is extremly high. I have been able to hit 5,700 when shifting manualy but I have never seen that number.

Redline on my 01 I4 starts at 6000. If I manually shift it I can go about 6500 before it gets scary. If I open up the bottle the car shifts itself at about 6100 (without manul shifting)....

quick question... do you also have the apexi rev speed meter? if you do that can get rid of your rev limiter.

I don't but why would I want to get rid of the limiter. I thought you lose power after 5,500 anyway?

no not that you would want to get rid of your rev limiter...in my case I installed the RSM to get rid of the speed cut at 120 (damn jap limiter) it also cut the rev limiter, it was something small that I overlooked.

I think I'm missing something...

I never got a speed limit on my car. The week I first got my car, I took it to my favorite road to have fun and I got going over 135 (guess cuz the numbers stopped) and I never felt any kind of limiter. I know that my speedo is accurate cuz I readjusted it using a police "this is the speed, this is how fast you're going" radar signs. Do 99 G's not have limiters, or is mine just wierd?

Most 99's dont have that limiter, every year after the limiter kicks in around 120mph

Do you have the RPM fix on the AFC?

Not sure what you mean. I just hit the up button and take a look at what was the max for each reading.

You tapped the AFC into the ECU, you didnt use the fix? Maybe with the AFC2 you dont need the fix.

Ohh that is what you are talking about. I didn't wire it up. I was to much of a chicken shit to touch the ECU. I have my boy Nick wire it up for me. I will ask if he did the fix.

The 4 cyl didn't need the RPM fix. I got mine from a v6 stratus with the fix and I ended up taking it off. Car runs fine without it....

ok I have 2 questions, first one is how do you do the 'fix' on the v6 with the SAFC. I have the same one as in the picture. and second, what is the max the Karmon should read, let's say from take off, to redline on the v6? thanks

Is their anyway to tell if you dont have a limit (except hitting it).
