alternator... maybe?

ok so i just put my new subs in the other day, which are a fuckload more powerfull then my old rockfords, when i realized it seems that my car likes to run on battery power when i am stoped at a light(lights dimming, stereo fucking up, car almost dies). but when i drive it runs on the alt, is this a problem with the alt or do i just need to buy a cap and another battery?

get your alternator and battery checked(free at autozone) and YES get a cap, this will help your battery AND alternator life.

97+ alternator are 90 amp

94-96 alternator are 70 amp.
