Cleaning the throttle body

I have no idea on how to do this. Can it be done by myself or do i need to take it to a mechanic.

The reason why I'm posting a new topic is because it seems a lot of people have this problem, and it would be nice for us people with lesser intelligence, to know what to do here.

So if it can be done by myself, what are the steps to do it. (I don't even know where the thing is)

What I do is take a clean rag, put some carb cleaner on it, and clean it out. like if you were cleaning the inside of a cup kinda. Anyone else know a different/ better way?

But where is it located?

look at your battery. to the left of the battery is this big pipe. thats the intake pipe. follow the pipe towards your windshield. the pipe will end. there should be a hose clamp there too. loosen the clamp, and pull off the pipe. that thing the pipe was clamped onto, that was the tb.

the throttle body is what open and closes to adjust airflow into the engine, if you are really having a hard time finding it, have someone sit inside the car (with everyone off, obviously) and push the gas pedal back and forth. look for the pivoting wheel w/ wire that will be spinning, opening the plate back and forth. that is your TB
