17'' wheel tire size

Hey whats up guys. I have a 95 Galant S. i just bought rims and tires for it but haven't put them on yet. The tire size is 205/40/r17. I told a couple people that i got these and they're telling me to be careful because it might rub since is a big increase from stock. Anyone know if this is true or if they'll be alright?
