Well it looks like i'll have to be getting a new car within the next few weeks. Which years are the best for the 8g's? i'm not going for speed but for overall reliability. I'd like to get a silver or black one with the chrome grill.

I'd say go with a decent 01 which does not include the ugly (IMO) 02-03 bumper. Then you have cash left over to start modding...

i totally agree with blank...but @ the same time i owe more on my 01 right now (bought it pre ownd in 02) than what anyone would pay for a brand new 03  ...thats why i threw out the suggestions...but that 02-03 bumper is booty :? https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

What kind of gas mileage do the 4 and 6cyl. get.

My 4cyl gets about 26.5 with A/C at full blast going 80-85 down the interstate. When my mom drove my car tho, she got 30, but she is slower and doesn't use A/C ever. In the city I usually get 22-23, but I am heavy on the start and like I said, lots of A/C. So depending on where you do most of your driving and your style, but I never really get lower than 22.

i agree. 2000 V6 =D and thats not being biased... ok yeah it is

the V6 will already be slow, stock, compared to the traffic you will encounter today. getting the i4 will be asking to wait in line when merging. 99-01 have sexy grills. especially if you cut the slats or get a JDM grill, but then you need JDM lights, and once you have JDM lights, you will need the JDM tails. once you have the JDM tails you'll need the...

you get the point. galants are sexy. 00 V6 is sexiest. 8)

Well, I wanted a silver Galant when I got mine, but the dealership had no V6 models in silver. If I was looking to get a used Galant now, I'd try for a '99 in Minden Silver (only year they made that color) like Reelax's Galant. Or I'd try for an '02-'03 in charcoal gray, but I'd have to change the front bumper. Nothing less than a V6 though.
