I was wondering was it the difference between an Injen intake and those $50 bucks intakes on ebay.???
Is it a good idea to replace the stock filter box and put a cone filter at the end...??

I found this at cardomain. This is what Im talking about, but not with the fan...http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/609169/4 ('http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/609169/4')

its more than the name.

better quality parts. like in injen intake would have a reusable filter while some of the ebay ones have the throw away type.

customer service. if you have problems with the install or something isn't right, you have sum1 to talk to, to help you solve your problem. also if the pieces break you can get a replacement parts for it

instructions.

if you live in a state that has CARB equivalent restrictions, you're gonna need that sticker to pass inspection. many of them ebay intakes don't have that.

The biggest difference comes in the filter. I know injen uses urethane filters which won't break apart from the heat of your motor. Other cheap ones us rubber which will eventually harden and break apart. Not good if they break inside your intake tube...

Just buy an ebay one and get a K&N Cone filter and stick it on there. They're reuseable and not very $.

But yeh, quite honestly you're buying a name with AEM or Injen. It may be better quality, but its just a metal pipe.

https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif I like your fan idea, gas is $$ now. Have you ever figured out what your mpg is with and with out the fan?

When I saw it, I was like wtf. but it produces more cold air, does it really makes a difference?

I heard some people take out those fin type things where their foglight is so air can get to their CAI better, but has anyone made a funnel for that space yet so it looks a bit cleaner?

about 3-5 extra mpg pending how you drive. about 30 miles extra a tank.
and i switched out the motor to a hair dryer one wich blows cooler air alot faster.

I bought an ebay intake for 30$ and it works fine, but the quality of the parts is probably not as good as injen brand. For example some of the rubber parts on mine are beginning to crack and the piece that supports the cold air extension has broken off.

MAS adapter=$5
K&N Cone Filter=$40

so for $45, you just made a WAI. throw on some stickers and some people wouldn't even know. tell them its the rubber edition. haha.

(not encouraging stickers)
