Can I get rid of this styrofoam thing?

The two tabs (circled in pink) are broken anyway, and I'd just as soon remove the piece entirely if it's not like a window guide or something useful.

why would u want to do that?? styrofoam makes the door sound quieter justl ike the dynamat would. but the stryrofoam weighs much more less than dynamat.

weighs much more less
 jeejee j/k i think it might have more to do with sound suppression than anything else ... double check also to make sure it doesn't act as a support for the door panel before you tear it off

That's why I wanted to know. I will be doing my entire doors, and it would be easier to cover that portion if I can safely remove the big foam bulge, rather than cutting the mat to fit around it.
The extra weight of an 8"x8" piece of mat isn't even a concern, I just didn't want it to be something important like a window stabilizer when the window rolls down.
