question for 8g owners with 18" rims...

stay as close as you can to 18x7.5 +45mm offset w/ 225/40zr18 tires. this is the tried and true median for 18" wheels on the USDM 8G.

follow reelax's advice. i have 235/40/18 tires, 18x8.5" rim with a +38mm offset.

i have no issues with fitment and rubbing. but then again, my car sits like an inch to an inch and a half [size=18]<span style='color:red'>higher</span> than stock. i really wanted that 4x4 look lol

now if i were to lower my car to stock height, or even have people in the back seat, then i'd have to say hello to my issues.

that guide is shitty. i'd use it to know your bolt pattern, the thread size of the lugs, and the fast that we have lug nuts. the tire size, most of them are inaccurate. and with the offsets, 35mm offset won't fit on the galant. and back to the tire sizes, there's no way in hell you can stretch an 18 inch tire onto a 19 inch rim. no matter what car you have.

True about the ride height. I wish I had done my suspension first before I got my wheels. I have 18''s also.

hey guys, I just mounted my 18's on the whip and im experiencing rubbing in the back. They are 18x8's 225/40/18... what can I do to prevent the rubbing.

its rubbing on the rear fender lip, but im not quite sure if i can tell.. im very sure its the fender lip..

get a fender roller and that will solve your problem..

Its all about the offset. I'm running 18x8.5 with 225 series rubber with Ground Control coilovers. No rubbing up front, minimal out back, and my car is tucking tire in the rear. Stay clost to stock offset and you'll be fine...unless of course your thinking of running 18x9 or something ridiculous... https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

That explains it. The offset is too low. You are definitely rubbing the rear inner fender lips.
