I have a short ram intake and i was looking into getting a heat shield for it. Should I pay the 50 bucks for an Injen heat shield or just buy a cheap ebay one for 5 dollars?? Of course i'm going to get what i pay for but is it a big difference performance wise??? Do they even really do anything for the car???

Go with the One on Ebay. That's where mine is from. Same damn difference.

They won't do anything for you. Don't bother.

i haven't noticed a damn difference with my heat shield. it just makes things look pretty thats about it.

on a cai i guess you can put it on the leading face of the filter and it will keep it cleaner but other than that no real gain with the injen heat shield.

I've got the el-cheapo e-bay heat shield, and its more of a bling-bling thing. However, it does seem to help keep some dirt off the filter - I'll take a pic tonight to show you what I mean.

thanks for all the info. I think i'm gonna go with the cheap ebay one. How can i go wrong with only spending 5 bucks. I would really like an injen heat shield but the last time i saw one it was stamp with Injen name in red lettering. It would go with the rest of my engine its all chrome, black and silver.

Guess its good for a bit more than bling - keeps some of that dirt off the filter
(And yes, I fixed the antifreeze leak)
