can't figure it out...

When i'm driving and i come to a stop on a red light, the car kinda routinely jerks once. It kinda feels like i stepped on the accelerator while i was braking and the rpm kinda shoots up like 500+ for that quick second. Does anyone else have this probelm?
the idle kinda goes heavy a little before it jerks so i can kinda feel it coming when the wheel start to vibrate.
oh it also feels like the engine kinda shook, which made it jerk....maybe?

I have an I4 with almost 45k on it
sparks, oil, fluid, wires all checked and replaced this month.

can anyone help>?

downshifting?
i was at a complete stop with my foot on the brake...a minute at least usually goes by on complete zero stop before the jerk occurs.
i thought downshifting u do manually(?)

Yeah if your at a stop then I'm not sure what it would be. And yes automatics do downshift when you slow down. Remember automatics are always in drive so when you slow down enough the car will down shift to the next gear....
