I have searched but I couldn't find what I was looking for because of the large amount of posts with 'spoiler' in it. I have a black 99 gtz and I want to take off the spoiler. Is there a webpage or a tutorial to show how to do this and what to plug the holes with so it doesn't look bad? Any help would be great!

if you open the trunk lid there should be some bolts/screws under where the pedastals are. just remove them and the spooiler will come off. then to finish the removal just remove the wiring for the brake light.

as for filling it in, there are many ways to do so. if you go to the hardware store they sell lil plastic plugs that you can use to cover the holes. but they don't look so well.

you can also use some bodyfiller and some fiberglass.

but if you want to do it right, get a piece of sheet metal welded in to plug up the holes and get things painted.

you can always get a carbon fiber trunk lid if you want https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif

I might be thinking about selling the spoiler if I can figure out an easy way to fill the holes and make it look clean. Does anyone have any pics of after they have removed it?

You should trade trunk lids with someone that doesn't have a spoiler.

when done right, it should look like any normal spoilerless galant trunk lid

I know with my 2001 GTZ, I can't take the spoiler off because it won't have that 3rd middle brake light. Isn't it law for a car to have a 3rd middle brake light?

*It's 1:30 am, so I'm almost positive I don't have a 3rd brake light if I take my spoiler off.

I have a 2003 grey interior rear deck and third brakelight housing that I would gladly trade for a grey rear deck with no hole for the third brakelight.
