Exhaust Leak and exhaust material??

I have developed an exhaust leak on my 2000 GTZ with 12.5k miles.

I thought I read somewhere that the exhaust was stainless steel.

Any idea if this would be covered under 5yr/60k mile warranty?

No, unfortunately the warranty period (bumper to bumper, 3/36) for your 2000 would have expired by now (unless you bought a new leftover 2000 within the past 36 months). The warranty is either time or mileage. Do you really only have 12,500 miles on the car, or was that a typo? The exhaust system isn't part of the powertrain, so the 5/60 powertrain warranty won't apply either.

Not a typo. 12,500 miles.
Bought new in December 2000 from the plant in Normal, IL. where I use to live.

My concern is that the specifications say stainless steel exhuast and mine has a corrosion issue, which it should not. Just trying to see if anyone has had an issue with exhaust corrosion. I may have to go to Mitsu direct to get an explanation of stainless exhaust.
