take your alternator to autozone, they will check it for you for free, you might have just gotten a bad one.

yeah one of the secondary connections heading to the battery was loose and that was the cause of the battery problems

Please make sure it's not your harmonic balancer/crankshaft pulley causing the problem https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

It happened to my G, and it's not the first time Mitsu dealers have heard about it....we called to order a new HB, and the guy was like "Yeah, we have stockpiles here. It's a common problem." RECALL??? https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

Because before we figured out what the problem was, the car was shredding belts (the one that spins off the alternator) like every two or 3 days--the highest quality ones you can get from Advance. We also went through 3 alternators, and that wasn't the problem either. It kept draining my battery every single time https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif We also got the battery tested to make sure it wasn't faulty...and it wasn't.

Bad harmonic balancer...

Hopefully this helps you out...
