ok...heres the problem i'm havin....u know how the rpm red line for the i4 gallant is 6000 rpm's? well....how can i gain more then that? and if so how would i know what the new redline limits are? since its quite oviouse that the factory gauge still indicates that the redline is 6000 rpm..thnx alot for any help possible https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

I dont think there is any way...unless you get a custom chip that raises the rev limiter. I know when I had my M3 you could slap on a JC chip that increased the rpms by about 300. Idk if you can do that with software for this car but without a few mods you wouldnt need the software anyway.

Why do you want more rpm's anyway? That does not necessarily mean your car will be faster...

You would have to raise the rev limiter then you need to change your valve springs so it can handle the extra rpms.Check with rpw to see what there valve springs are rated for and that should give you a little extra rpms.I'm not sure but I think the only way you could raise the rev limiter is to get the jet ecu but i'm not sure they maybe another way.

why do you want this? it's a redline for a reason. do you have any mods what-so-ever to required a higher redline?

You have to build your engine. Bigger/stronger valves and springs, more agressive cams, built bottum end, maybe a new crank, plus fuel mods, lighter flywheel helps rev more freely, ect. Whats the point of wanting to rev higher? Id rather want to make more hp then attain higher RPMs.

Ive seen a built 800whp Evo be able to rev 8-9k RPMs. Right now on your stock motor, removing the rev limiter will just cause you damage, its there for a reason.

Just for info when I dynoed my car I put down more HP at about 4000 RPM than i did at 6000. Bottom line more rev's does not mean more HP...

WHP is measured at the front wheels since our cars are front wheel drive and you can only get that measurement on a dyno machine.Hp is what the dealerships and manufactors give and that is measured at the crank. The big difference is in your transmission you will lose horsepower when it transfers from the engine to the wheels.Automatic transmissions lose more horsepower than a manual transmission.Whp is the true horsepower #'s that your car will put to the ground.I hope this helps

HP is the ponies that the motor puts out. WHP is what actually makes it to the wheels. You lose power from the motor to the wheels mainly becuase of the trannsmission.

Yes I do have a 2001 I4 cali spec.

Those numbers were with a cold air intake, headers, HFC, 2.5" cat back exhuast, magnecore wires, FPR and S-AFC. It was tuned for nitrous so my air/fuel levels were 12:1.

Another member with a 99 fed spec, same mods as me except the FPR and tuned for N/A dynoed around 120 WHP and 165 lbs of trq....
