gas line leak

i've got a crack in my gas line it is on the hard line, i was told i can cut that out and put in a hose or would it be better to just put anouter hard line in there? i'm kinda on a budget and i'm not going for anything high performance in the future or nothing like that

hard line where - engine bay, under the car, fuel tank? Generally, you want to replace like with like for safety, but you could get away with using hose (make sure it's fuel injection hose to handle the pressure) in the engine bay. I wouldn't do that under the car or by the fuel tank, though.

Cut a nice hunk out and go buy a cheap pipe bender, some pipe from home depot and a few fittings to bolt the new section on. Its not hard.
