So i've been toying with the idea of getting a header for my car as a start to the build up of my exhaust system. The problem is I havn't been able to find the info that I am looking for by searching. So I figured I'd start a new thread. My question to you all is what is the best header out there for our cars? I have a 4 cyl and I'm looking for just a little more punch from the motor and a deeper tone. So, between RPW, Ripp, DC Sports, Kamakazi, and OBX ( am I forgetting anyone? ) who makes the best header for the money? Again I really don't see SDS or a turbo in the near future just want to help the engine breath a little better. I realize that a header typically doesn't give much gain in hp but every little bit helps. Thanks for any help.

best header hands down is ripp, but the key word you said is for the money. and for the money, i would say RPW makes a solid header. have seen them installed and they seem of high quality and havent seen any big complaints.

i hate to say it because i love RPW but i have to say their header was a let down those who were at teh mid atlantic dyno meet can attest there were little HP gains and torque wasn't anything worth while mentioning as well. I need to get a new set i'm debating wether to get another RPW set

Sorry to kind of thread-jack here, but it is still on topic of his question in a way. I won't be getting a SDS or turbo, so should I ever consider purchasing headers?

If you get an SDS, headers are pretty much a requirement.... https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif

Correct!! you need an aftermarket header in order to run the SDS. Using the stock header will create too much backpressure because of the boost.
