just so nobody makes this mistake again a axle back for a 3g eclipse will bolt on to an 8g but will not be long enough and you wont be able to see it from behind.

Yeah, any exhaust for the 3G Eclipse, whether it's a cat-back or an axle-back, will bolt up but be too short. About 10" or so.

However, a cat-back or axle-back exhaust for a 01-04 Dodge Stratus Coupe or Chrysler Sebring Coupe will fit an 8G Galant. It's pretty much a direct bolt on for a Cali spec 8G, just the easily fixable hangar issue to deal with.
