Fog/Driving lights

Yeah, I did look around on the tutorials and couldn't find anything. I have a 97G ES without the foglight option. I wanted to know a few things about installing them because in a week or two, I will be ordering me a set for my G. Here are some things I wanted to ask you all:

What is a good size of foglight for the outter lower bumper spaces? Are we allowed by law to install foglights that far apart? Where do you shop for your foglights or where is a good place with fair prices. How simple is the install and running the wires? Will I have to pull the front bumper to do this job? Do I have to take the dash apart to run the switch through, or where is a good accessible place to run the switch?

I drive at night a lot and already have some xenon bulbs, but still need a brighter light, would foglights or driving lights fit me better, or what is the difference between the two.

I was thinking these are my options, marked in red and blue. I like the look of them being more towards the outside, it'll give it an aggressive look to it. but i have seen some where the blue circle is as well, is either option better than the other?

I saw you installed Xenon bulbs...but what kind? There are alot of cheapo brand Xenon bulbs claiming to be bright...but actually are not. REAL Xenon/Hyperwhite bulbs will cost you at least around $50 for a pair.

Now...foglights you can pretty much install any aftermarket foglights...as long they fit your style and fit the car. Wiring is simple...just hook it up to a power source, to a ground....and add your own switch. You have the 97-98 style bumper...and where you got the Red circle...the factory foglight units sit in that front vent hole...covering the majority of the vent. Usually...you have the spend $$$$ to get the parts brand new OEM...so the cheaper way is junkyard or calling around for aftermarket OEM replacement parts. I am not sure...but doubt it, I don't think if the car wasn't equipped with foglights from factory...it most likely isn't wired for it...so you would have to wire everything yourself. I know Sylvania, PIAA, and Calsonic make Xenon bulbs for most foglights, therefor you have a options for brighter foglights.

I paid around 40 bucks for my xenon lowbeams, they are eurolite. I know they are cheap and I should have gone Sylvania Silverstar, but didn't have the money at the time.

So, it's a fairly simple install and most aftermarket systems will do then. That's good to hear.

Now, does anyone know the dimensions of the outside vents in the lower bumper? I don't want to go junkyard because I want a new set, but it can be aftermarket.

I am mainly looking at Hella's thin and blue light set, but would like round and blue/bright white if I can find some for a good price.

The Hella's look like the ones that agrsv7g has on his ride with a silver bezel.

Any other advice or opinions?

I've had three different sets of fog lights on my car since I got it. In my experiance the cheap brands do not last. The housing are not sturdy and crack. The mounts are cheap and sometimes hard to adjust properly so that they stay sturdy. And, they never seem to be bright enough.

I would recommend going with a good brand; Hella, PIAA, KC, etc.

Try this guy on Ebay. I bought some lights from him. He is a very honest and professional person to deal with. And his prices are awesome.

If brighter light is what you want then what you might consider is the Xenarc X1010 Auxiliary Low Beam Kit from Sylvania. It's bright and gives out a pure white light. The downside is its price. Expect to pay around $280 but to me, it was worth the money spent 8) .

Does anyone know what the dimension is for the lower side vents on the front bumper of a 97G ES? I want to go with a round light, but I don't know what fits. I would measure myself but it's been nasty outside lately.

My price range due to finances is between 40-60 bucks, and I have found some nice Hellas for that price. I have to shop at stylinconcepts.com because of thier "bill me later" option.

I have found these Hella white fog/driving lights for roughly 50 bucks and just ordered them, what do you think? I was trying to get a full round light, but i think these semi ovals will look pretty good on the G. Comes with the wiring, switch and everything else needed to install.
