I was wondering if the Trans Tune would hurt or help my transmission...since DSM has the whole different transmission fluid stuff...

Uhm.

I've used the normal Sea Foam stuff in my crankcase, vaccuum hose line (the most fun thing...EVER.), and gas tank.

Someone should make a tutorial on the Sea Foam use through the vaccuum hose line...I could provide pictures. Sea Foam is AMAZING. It helps vehicles get rid of carbon build-up (which in turn helps with emissions!) etc....

Was just wondering if Trans Tune would be safe.

If you have any questions...post them here.
Sorry if it seems like a dumb question to you guys, but I'm messed up on hydrocodone cough meds https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif Heh..it's kinda fun though.... Just can't drive the G anywhere https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif

What's wrong with your transmission?

I don't think using trans tune on a DSM would be any better/worse than any other car. Seems unlikely it would react badly with the diamond ATF additives
but not the additives of other manufacturers.

I still wouldn't recommend using it without knowing why, though.

It hasn't done it recently, but in the past year I've had the Galant, it's knocked itself into neutral twice (because I laid on the gas to merge onto the highway)....

We recently had the transmission flushed.

And of course, it likes to downshift roughly, but I'm aware that probably 9 out of 10 7g automatic tranmissions do this....

I have two bottles of transmission stuff:

Gunk transfusion Automatic Transmission Sealer and Conditioner

ATSC claims to: "Revives sluggish transmissions" and "seals and prevents leaks"

and yesterday dad got me bottle of Sea Foam Trans Tune as a get well present...(for both the galant and myself lol)

TT claims "Cleans gum and varnish", "smooths rough and erratic shifting" and etc.

The problems are is that RARELY but it does happen, the transmission slips itself into neutral...and it is kinda sluggish when I do press on the gas to downshift a gear....

But personally...I trust the Sea Foam brand more than anything...
And starting tomorrow, the Galant is going to be for sale in the paper...so we don't wanna mess it up too much lol...

thanks. https://www.thegalantcenter.org/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif

If you're selling it, i would just leave it as is. There's always a risk that
the additive would make it worse, in which case you're trying to
sell a car with an obvious drivability problem.

If you do decide to use an additive, I would also trust the sea foam a
lot more than the gunk type. I did a little web searching and found
a few people who said it helped their cars, and noone who said it
caused more problems.
