If you HAD to choose...

I am looking at mufflers for my dual setup, and money is a big issue, so if you HAD to choose, would you go with Ractive or Megan for your mufflers?

And, would you go w/ slanted tips or regular tips? Ive always been partial to slanted but now im not sure.

and im getting both these mufflers around $120, so if you can find 2 other ones for that range that are better post away

i have the meagan muffler. its the least expensive move i made for my car. mine's a 3 inch inlet with a slanted tip, it looks great. And it sounds fine too.
Despite what anyone tells you, straight through mufflers are all the same.
all it is, is a polished resonator with a tip on it. same use different sound absorbing material, but they all sound pretty much the same. if you buy cat back exaust systems, most use a comination of resonator and a straight through muffler.
mine isn't offensivly loud at all, i also have a turbo to quiet the sounds, but i had it on before i swapped motors and it sounded fine.
get the slant tip, i'm getting tired of seeing N1 style tips on every freakin car.
if you don't want it to be too loud, don't let the muffler shop cut out your stock resonators. and make sure you put a little english on the mounting positiion to keep it sexy.
get the meagan you won't be dissapointed. get it from ebay where its cheaper.
i took a wire wheel to the tip to take off the logo.

if you are getting a custom cat back with duals, get a resonator put on before the split to help keep it from sounding like a dirt bike. with the properly sized resonator, you can help that galant sound like the well tuned super touring car it was made to be.

Thanks for the response, you have some good input for this website I must say. I have a friend of mine that is welding the setup for me so it will fill the stock opening snugly, and my resonators will remain in place like you said. Now you said you have the turbo, do you mean the turbo exhausts or you ae a turboed G? Would the turbo style of those exhausts turn out to be quieter on a NA car? The quieter the better in my situation. Thanks again for ur input

my galant has a 4g63t turbo motor in it. the turbo itself helps to quiet the exhause partial because it reflects sound frequenies back into the motor, and alos because the turbo creates a vortex that swirls the gasses thet leave the turbine, resulting in smoother exhaust flow and lower decibel levels.

I'd go with the slant tip too, don't know why, but just looks cleaner. I myself am on my 3rd different one, but love my Revolution one now and hope it lasts for a long time. Wasn't too spendy either. YOu can easily find mufflers for $150.
