a quick check showed that the 8G is only 2 inches fatter than the Evo8 in overall width.

wow, u know what i just realized. alot of cars have body kits that are called "evo" or resemble the evo style, atleast the older styles sort of. but the galant doesnt, although its alot closer related to the evo than the other cars. must have to do with that whole aftermarket support thing.

I use to be a member here about a year ago, but i havnt been back since, and i guess my name got terminated or sumthin, i can't even remember what it was. anywho, i figured someone else may have attempted since I did it, I beleive I posted pics before it got painted....

well, if anyone did acctually try it, i'd like to see how it came out..so post some pics.

Click that, should take you to the pics. I did this about a year ago, right in my driveway. I had it on there pretty perfect, except it needed to be push back about another inch or so. When I took it to the body shop, I ask them to fit it a little bit better before they painted it, and to also put some supports on it some where since it wasn't meant for the galant. I know fiberglass tends to lose it's shape if it's not supported enought.

Well, let me tell you....you want somethin done right, do it your damn self. I say push it back 1inch, they chop the thing to hell, and push it back like 4 inches. The paint job was horrible, looks like the idiot didnt even take out the headlights, cause u can still see primer directly under them. Since he decided not to put any supports like i ask, the middle of it is saggin down about 2 inches now.

As for those pieces of metal that are where the fogs should be, that was one of "let me try and see if i looks good" type deals. Since the asshole at the body shop pushed it so far back, the frame was buttin up against the holes, and I couldn't find any fog lights that were thin enough to fit there. So I compromised and made some 8 inch round pieces of metal out of some scrap i had lying around, and slapped some of that carbonfiber sticker shit on one, and realized i didnt have enough for both....half ass job, i know. Doesn't really matter tho, ripping it off when the weather gets nice, and redoing it.

Anyway, I plan on redoing this project this summer, and doing it right this time. My good friend is now the proud owner of a body shop, so i have everything I need at my disposal.

Hope you like it, and if anyone ever attempts this, consult me before hand so I can give you some do's and dont's!

interesting, It actually doesn't look that bad, would look better if you were able to put the fogs in, but not that bad. Was this bumper made for the EVO or a diff model?

I'm not crazy about that bumper, but props for fitting it on. Is it from a Mirage or possibly a kit for the '91-'92 Galant VR-4?

What bumper is that? custom made?

I take no offence if you don't like it, cause neither do I. But like I said, I'm going to re-do the project, So I can fit fogs in there, and make it stick out some more. Now that I have seen that pic tho, i'm kind of changing my mind....I WANT THAT! lol what is it?
